Q:How did you get your name, Harley Hart?
A:well, hart is pretty easy, considering it's the family name, but harley, well, harley is a completely different story. see, my family's been in the horse business for as long as anyone can remember, before they even came to america. so naturally, we've always had horses, well when my mom was growing up, a foal was born on the farm. my mom was pretty attached to him growing up, so when she had her first and only kid she named me harley.
Q:What did you do after highschool?
A:after high school i left california to train with an olymipc medalist, phillip dutton. i trained with him for three and a half years, working on my goal to become an olympic medalist with my own mare, the ballad of mona lisa, a dark mahogany brindle bay. we excelled and we're going to join the olympic team for the next round of olympics.
Q:So, why are you here, and not training with dutton anymore?
A: well, just before my name was going to go down as part of the u.s.' olympic team, i got a call from my grandfather. he told me my grandmother had been diagnosed with cancer, now see, my mom died when i was only ten years old in a tragic riding accident, so they're all i have left, i never knew my father. my grandfather knowing my dream to become an olympic medalist was going to sell his life's work to spend more time with his wife. and well, i decided that he deserved all the time the world had to offer him and her. so, in respect for my family, i left phillip dutton, and traveled back to california with my mare.
Q:so are you here to stay then?
A:Yup! i plan on giving my grandparents as much time as they want together for the rest of their lives as well as teaching and instructing others in the way i was taught. i hope many people come to bite the bit and leave more knowledgeable in any discipline they ride in.------------------------------------------
